Alocasias 25% off!

Alocasia Variety

A subtropical plant that produces beautiful colored foliage.  Some have a heart-shaped leaf or an arrowhead leaf.  Some leaves are textured and/or have wavy edges. Some leaves are one color on top and a different color on the bottom.  Some have these amazing veins in the leaves.  Easy care and stunning!  Considered a house plant in most locations but our hot and humid conditions are what the Alocosia thrive on.  For most of the year, your plants can be grown outside on your patio, pool deck, or inside your pool cage.  They like bright indirect light so they can work well under those beautiful shade trees you have in your landscape.  They will add that tropical pop wherever you put them.  Bring indoors during our brief winter.  When growing indoors remember to keep out of the drafts from your heat/ac vents.  Most are said to be winter hardy in zone 9 to 11.  They like a part shade to filtered sun location in the landscape.  They are not drought-tolerant plants and like moist to wet soil but not soaked soil.  Like most plants like a regular watering schedule during the growing season. Not salt tolerant so when used along the coast put in an area out of that direct salty wind.  Alocosia is deer and rabbit resistant.  Toxic to pets so make sure you put it in a location that is not accessible to your little munchers.  Fertilize your Alocasia during the growing season with a good granular slow-release 20-20-20 fertilizer or with an all-purpose liquid.  Remember to follow the manufacturer's instructions for application.  #StayHealtyGetDirty. #GardeningTheNewAmericanPastime!
