Dracaena colorama aka Madagascar Dragon Tree.
A beautiful cane-type plant. Produces vibrant variegated leaf - color is green with a white and pink stripe. The more indirect light the pinker it gets. A low-maintenance beauty. Grows in a vertical fashion with a sturdy cane. Slow grower. Considered a perennial Can reach 15 to 20 feet tall at maturity if allowed. Most keep their Colorama at 3 to 10 feet tall. Likes a bright indirect light location in the landscape as well as when being grown indoors. Does not like a windy location so plant in a protected area outdoors . If growing indoors do notput in the direct draft of your heat/ac vent indoors. Prefers 65 to 80 degrees and does well in humidity. Dracaena is toxic to pets so put in an area not visited by your little munchers. They say a Dracaena will purify the air inside your home, What a colorful way to have clean air! Cold hardy in zone 9. Not frost tolerant. Bring indoors or cover with nursery frost cloth during our brief cold snaps. Said to be drought tolerant but like many other plants prefers moist soil so water accordingly. Considered to be deer resistant. Considered to be low feeder. Fertilize in the spring, summer, and fall with a well-balanced fertilizer. Remember to follow the manufacturer's instructions for application.
