This beauty produces a leaf that's a combination of yellow and green.  It's sort of sword-shaped and its outer edges are yellow with a light green inner band.  It's considered one of the best indoor plants for your home.  Removes hostile chemical compounds from the air.  Will provide beauty in any setting.  Could be a great addition to your indoor collection.  It's low maintenance and can tolerate low-light conditions.  When growing indoors put it in a place where it will receive bright indirect light and out of the draft of your AC/heat vents.  You can also grow in the landscape and get that tropical influence.  You must plant in a spot in bright indirect light and not too much shade.  Water frequently but doesn't like continuous wet soil.  Can reach 7 to 10 feet tall with a 2 to 3 foot spread so plant in a location that can accommodate the size.  Cold hardy zone 9.  Doesn't tolerate frost.  Should cover with nursery frost cloth during our brief cold snaps.  Prefers bright indirect light.  Toxic to pets and livestock.  Plant in a place that they cannot access.  Said to like a regular watering schedule.  Fertilize with organic house plant fertilizer monthly indoors and outside with a good slow-release granular 10-10-10.  Remember to follow the manufacturer's instructions for application.
